Scout’s Notes – Patterson is an up-and-coming prospect hailing from the middle Tennessee area that is looking to establish himself as a name to know going forward. The upcoming junior-to-be will be hitting the playing field with the Burros in a major role for the first time of his young playing career this season. Patterson is looking to man one of the starting spots at cornerback for the Burros but the work to get there starts now. The 5-foot-7 defensive back has some growing and work to do in the weight room. His size alone will put him at a deficit, but that won’t stop him from competing. Patterson is a feisty, quick, athletic football player that uses his instincts well and is consistently improving at tracking the ball. The more he matures in his game, Patterson will become consistent and productive cover corner throughout his high school career.
Recruiting – After spending time in the offseason training and competing against other top competition, Patterson will be ready to make his mark on the Hillsboro defense in the fall and began to call notice to any and all collegiate coaches. His work ethic and desire to get better will surely get the attention of a college program sooner rather than later.
Coaches Take – Hillsboro Asst. Coach – Anthony Brown – “Patterson is one of our many juniors that will get the opportunity to play a lot this season. He will be in the running for a starting cornerback spot this summer and fall. Jaelyn is a good young man that is working extremely hard in the weight room. He should be ready for more action this season.”
