Scout’s Notes – Great attitude and hard-worker is how to describe Josh Emmons. He is a complete team player that is willing to do whatever it takes for his team to win. Emmons is a versatile prospect overall that could make plays on the offensive side of the ball, but his physical mentality and great instincts fit best on defense. Emmons is a hard-nosed competitor that plays the cornerback position with attitude and with smarts. He has the ability to lock down on the outside, play the island or slide inside and compete at nickel. His versatility within the secondary is what gives him an opportunity to possibly see the field sooner than later because he could play the island, nickel or even be plugged in at safety. A sure tackler as well, Emmons may be 5-foot-8, but he doesn’t shy away from physicality and will lay the wood whenever given the chance to. Overall, Emmons is a good, sound football player that should have a productive four year college career.

Recruiting – Emmons has officially signed scholarship papers with Olivet Nazarene University to play cornerback for the Tigers. Located in Northern Illinois, Emmons will compete on the NAIA level, which will be a platform for Emmons to not only see the field early, but eventually become a starting contributor. The Northeast cover corner ended up signing with Olivet Nazarene over his other lone offer from Union College.

Coaches Take: Chad Watson – Gallatin Head Coach: “Josh is the most coachable kid I have ever had. Great person that works extremely hard. The best is yet to come for Josh. He will contribute early in college and play well through his career.”
